Mississippian Moundbuilder Water Bottle Unbroken

Mississippian Moundbuilder Water Bottle Unbroken

A very fine example of shell tempered pre-historic monud builder pottery (700 a. D. -900 a. D. ) found near cardwell missouri, dunklin county, near the mississippi river in far southeastern missouri. The piece was excavated on private property by the seller in 1973. The pottery has had no restoration (mint condition), but has what appears to be a couple of small chips on the rim which is actually an area where a gopher chewed on the pottery when it was buried (see last photo). The bottle measures about 8 inches tall by 7 inches wide, and shows excellent patina. All my auctions are guaranteed to be as described. Please see my ohter auctions for more pre-historic relics.
